But there are rewards with church planting as well because God has a deep desire to see every tribe and tongue worship Him. As we come together to serve and give praise to Jesus, we are fulfilling God’s purposes for us as his people. But these purposes are not just for us to encourage and build ourselves up. As Peter said in Acts 2:39, “For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”
The promises of God fulfilled in the death and resurrection of Jesus are for everyone. Will everyone accept them? That’s for God to decide. Our job? To live in the light of these promises. As the new community of God, our lives together are a small taste of what God has in store for his people. Not a perfect taste, but real nonetheless.
Will the “maybes” come? For sure. But God is faithful. His purposes will not fail. And there is no less risky place to be than working within the purposes of God
